Mulgrave School Demo Slam-Oct 29, 2013 Pro-D Sharing Fair

There's going to be some stiff competition out there on the slam battle field. Recently, some of our staff attended a GAFE Summit and they're coming back with some serious ninja skills. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend, but I'm hoping this demo slam will drive up the competition a little more. After looking around for some interesting and applicable tools, I came across Google Story Builder, an app that allows a user to create conversations in a simulated Google Docs collaborative environment. All you have to do is follow these easy steps to create one...

1.        Add and name characters (up to 10)
2.        Add and edit the exchanges between characters (up to 10)
3.        Title the document
4.        Add music
5.        Title the video and add author name

6.        Publish and share link

Here are some interesting ways you could use Google Story Builder in the classroom

  •  Exclusively for dialogue…might be a good thing
  • Text to skits
  • Free verse poetry
  • Summarize a novel or a play they are reading
  • Indirect vs Direct speech
