Getting our Ninja on!

Today's session focused on introducing the basics of the Chrome browser. Thanks to Martin for leading the sharing session and going through the many useful functions of Chrome. 
Topics included:
  • Search using the omnibar
  • Customize your searches to focus of specific sites
  • What are extensions and how to use them?
  • What are apps? Where do you get them? How are they different then websites?
  • Setting up and customizing your toolbar to show your bookmarks
This conversation also led some people to share some useful Windows shortcuts like:
  • ctrl + a = select all
  • ctrl + v = paste
  • ctrl + p = print
  • ctrl + c = cut
  • ctrl + z = undo
  • alt + tab = switch between open windows
  • alt + s = take a screenshot (this also allows a user to use the mouse to select a defined area
  • window + down arrow = minimize window
  • window + up arrow = maximize window
  • window + left or right arrow = compare and contrast two windows in a snap
  • window + L = lock your PC or switch users
  • window + d = close all windows and go straight to desktop
  • window + plus or minus = zoom in or out
